Fit to View - without zoom

DDDesign

Question

I'd love to have a version of the fit to view command that doesn't zoom ie it will centre the view of the selected object on the screen without changing the zoom factor.

I often edit a 3D object "in a group". When switching between, say, front and top view the object will dissappear of the screen, and it takes several zooms and or pans to get it back to where you want it. You switch to another view then have to do it all over again!

This command (+ keyboard shorcut) would save me thousands of clicks a day.

David, here's a little trick (maybe you already know it?): If there an object (or objects) selected, hitting Command+1 (which will zoom in by x2) or Command+2 (which will zoom out by x2) will center the object(s). So if you want to center the object without changing zoom do this: select object, hit command 1, then hit command 2. Voila, the object is centeried and the same size...
