Shortnort
In order to keep the callout database small. I copy a condensed version to the folder of my VW files. I then add on as necessary. I do a lot of Convenience Stores, that have many of the same definitions, so I copy my latest database to the newest file folder. Here is the problem I have... I must hand pick EACH callout and link it to the new database. This takes forever. Is there an easier to link ALL callouts to the new database? Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
what about duplicate the callout and choose the correct note from the database? Quote Link to comment
shorter
If all callouts have already been placed, but refer to the old database... I am not aware of any way within the native software to point the callout to a new database, other than leaving the callout database where it is and edit it, taking a copy of the original callout database for record purposes. If you are making the callout database 'relative' then when you make a copy of the project files, e.g. at end of stage or on a new project, the database is still linked and can then be edited without affecting any callouts in the previous project or stage. Shortnort
Thanks everyone. I am not sure what Jonathan means. I do use "Path Relative to current document." But for some reason each callout still relates to the original DB. I have to physically click on each INDIVIDUAL callout and point it to the correct DB - Very time consuming. I have tried selecting multiple callouts of the same number, but assigning them to the current DB does attach to them all. Very frustrating. Perhaps I just need to use one DB until it gets too large and cumbersome to use expeditiously. Quote Link to comment
