I rarely use 3D, but I like the kind of cursor used in that mode - the one with the arrow and two markers floating around 0/0. (I find the full screen cursor option irritating, so I use just the arrow.) The 3D cursor could be useful in 2D if the origin for the two markers could be set seperately - to an object e.g.
Otherwise the full screen cursor should be editable, so that line thicknes and colour of both the lines and the arrow could be changed at wish.
