Hybrid Symbol

I’m experiencing an issue after upgrading to V2025. I created a custom stage deck with 3D geometry, which works perfectly, and I can rotate it by 45 degrees without any problems. However, after adding a 2D component, I can no longer rotate it due to the layer plane constraints. What could be causing this issue? I've done this multiple times in V2023 without any problems. Is this a result of the V2025 update?

This looks like normal behavior.

If you have any geometry in both the 2D and 3D spaces, you have a hybrid symbol.

Once you create 2D geometry in the Top/Plan space of the symbol, VW won't let you rotate the Symbol out of plane with the Top 2D geometry.

Thank you for your response! When I use a truss or a moving light from the Vectorworks library, I’m able to rotate the symbol with both 2D and 3D geometry without any issues. Could you clarify why the user is restricted in this case?

@Daniel Cortes VWXWhen you use a truss symbol or light symbol you place a truss object or a lighting device object and not just a simple symbol. Using the truss object and the lighting device object, and not just a simple symbol, is what allow you to rotate the geometry.
