Add ons or programmes for best landscape graphics

Recommended Posts

Please can someone remind me of the programmes or add ons people use to take a basic Vectorworks 3D model and add better plant graphics etc? Is one of them Twinmotion?

I don't need blockbuster graphics, just something that is relatively inexpensive but better than the terrible libraries that come with VW.

I find it disappointing how limited the 3D plant and outdoor texture libraries are in Vectorworks, unless I'm missing a whole load of folders somewhere?

As far as I can work out, the choice seems to be between some free stuff that is very limited and rather unreliable, and paying for quite expensive libraries.

Twinmotion is an external application, not something that works within VW. So you have to export back and forth. There is supposed to be a live link feature but it doesn't work properly and isn't maintained.

Every time I try and add plants, I run into some problem or the other.

Thank you, that post is really helpful - I think Twinmotion is probably what I need to look into as I know other designers use this. Is it a case of buying that programme as well, importing the VW model and then plonking plants and textures onto that model?

Unfortunately the direct snyc does not seem to be reliable.

Not sure. I switched to Lumion this year so haven't used Twinmotion since last year so I was working on VWX '24.
