Connecting hoist to house rigging point and truss

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm fairly new with the program, since dec 2024, but have been managing most of my tasks so far. Now I've run into the same issue multiple times and earlier I have found a work-around but this time I want to learn how to do it right.

I'm trying to create house points where I can attach multiple drops, bridle legs and hoist to, but I can't get them to stay connected to both the truss and the house point at the same time.

Could someone please try to help me?

How have you lined up your house rigging points with the truss underneath?
If the house point isn't close enough then it won't connect.
Also what version of Vectorworks are you currently running?
there was an issue with hoists that was fixed in update 2.1 that could be part of the problem

I think you should be using drops and bridles and not hoists directly. Give it a go.

Yes that is correct. I have tried insert drop, insert connection tool and One leg bridle (dead hang) with hoist as down leg 🙂

Hi,

I have made my own mesh grid that aligns with my roof and all inserts have been made on the intersections, so I would believe that they are aligned. I'm aware of the issue of not having thing in line 😄

I'm on 2.1 (build 788841)

When you insert the hoists are both the Hanging point and truss highlighting red together?

I can take a quick look at the file if you can post it here or DM it to me

No they are not. In the beginning I had the issue with truss and house point not being in line and thus not getting both marked in red. After I made a grid to align it all with that problem was solved. This time I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

The actual file I can not share, I will try to get time to create a similar one to send you. Tanks!
