Hi jonathan,

I am used to using a VAA title block, and I want to be able to do batch revisions and automatic transmittals with "VAA batch issue print" for projects with lots of pages.

I have seen people editing existing VAA templates, but is there a way to go from a normal title block template to a VAA with working linked text?

The VWX file is attached

I understand all that. But I still advise you against using the VAA title block. the standard Vectorworks sheet border has all of the things that you've mentioned. The title block Manager has control over issues and revisions and you can choose which drawings are revised and what the revision will say. You can easily control whether the revisions go up or down the page, you can add drawing stamps, you can issue project issues, project revisions, sheet revision log, etc

If you are able to create the VA title block that you want and in the future Vectorworks deprecates it you will have to redo some of that work. Vectorworks already tries to convert VAA title blocks to title block borders and therefore I suggest that's the best way to go forward.

I could be wrong, what do other people think?

This might help:
