Someone please test this file on M2 or better Mac

Question

I have this file that every time I click on the base part  I get spinning beachball for 2 minutes

When I actually try to subtract a letter from the part beachball is 5 minutes

Trying to determine if problem is the part or the Intel processor (2019 16" 32gb)

In the meantime 16" M4 pro is on order

So if the part IS the problem (letters and logo subtracted from the base) how can I do it different?

Trying to subtract the letters and logo from the base piece

Thanks

Definitely some type of problem with they file.

It has so far taken far more than 90 seconds to even open in VW2025 on an M3 Max MacBook Pro with 128 GB of RAM.

Is this a VW2025 file? Or are you really using VW2018 as it says in your signature.

If I ever get the file to open I will take a look.

File finally opened. It appears to be the logo.

In the OIP it says it is a Polyline with only 516 points. But select it with the Reshape tool and it looks like it have closer to 10,000 points.

I think you are going to have to redraw Logo to make the file work reasonably.

Rather than doing a single polyline, I would make separate objects for the center "tree" and the two outer circles and then just select and extrude the three parts at once.

It is not a very complicated object, so I would bet you can get it down to less than 100 vertices, maybe less than 50.

It might have something to do with textures, but even after I remove all the textures I am still seeing delays.

It appears that every object inside the final Solid Addition all have textures applied. And there are about 20+ Face Overrides on the overall texture.

But I still think it has something to do with the logo also.  Here is my version of the original logo polyline versus my simplified version.

Thanks

I had no way to test

The texture had been used many times with no noticeable problem

The letters and logo were extracted from an imported dwg file that I had other problems with --

--- an object that should have been 48" wide looked like it was 48 but when I clicked on it the selection length was 480,000 inches wide

Sometimes I just get bad files to work with and have to go with the flow

Thanks for your help

I'll check out that tree file
