text along a path

Hi All,

 

I'm struggling with something that is very likely super easy. I have a curved shape, and I want to have a bit of text in it, but I can't seem to do it. Text along path just wants to give me 3D shaped weird letters, and all I want is just to bend the text I have a bit to fit the shape. 

 

Anyone?

I think you used text along path, where the letters become outlined. I know that works, but I want it to go with all the other text boxes in the template I'm making, si I'm looking for a way to have "normal" text bend along a curve.
