moving video screen tool text

Hi everyone,

 

I'm trying to help a colleague who can't move the text fields belonging to a videoscreen (screen and lens info etc). When I have text with my video screen, I get a blue square in my text fields, which allows me to move those fields (see attachment). He does not have these blue squares, and therefore no way to move these text fields without moving the whole screen/projector. This sounds like a setting issue, but we have no idea where this could be.

 

Any thoughts?

I suspect that interactive scaling has been turned off for the Selection Tool. It needs to be set to the second mode.

Wonderful, thank you very much. It was bound to be something simple. But since that was something I've never touched (with me it was standard on the second mode), I had no idea where to look.

Sometimes, it gets altered by an inadvertent pressing of the U key. I rarely use the mode, but sometimes I find it has been activated by mistake. There should be an alert dialog when it is activated though....

Hello,

Users are often impatient and click the 'Do not show again...' option in the warning message. I see this quite frequently in support. 

 

 

 

 

 

Then they get into all sorts of strife like this. Suggest to your colleague to open the Vectorworks Prefs>Session and reset the 'Always do' dialogues.

 

 

 

 

 

At least until they are more proficient.
