IainSmalls
Hey Vectorworks Community. im currently working on a project where i need to create a load of custom trusses symbols and turn them into trusses that can be used by the truss tool. im able to model them, add magnets and make the truss symbols ready for the tool. my challenge is that my client wants an element of Braceworks compatibility for the trusses. The cross section for these trusses are made up of square major and minor chords, and the material is steel. Is anyone able to offer a workflow to achieve this, direction towards a video, or a written guide to accomplish it? Quote Link to comment
markdd
Take a look at this page. https://showvector.com/truss-symbols/. There are several videos that run through Truss symbol creation. The site is a subscription website so you will need to sign up. I hope you find it useful. 1 Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee JustinVanHassel Posted January 7 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 7 @IainSmallsThere are also documents and videos on Vectorworks University that show you how to create custom Braceworks cross sections. Be aware though that a custom cross section can only live within the file in which is was created, you cannot copy and paste the symbols into a new document and have the custom cross section be retained. This is a safety feature that is built into the code. Quote Link to comment
