hollister design Studio
The help pages say "Right-click on an unstyled roof and select New Roof Style from Unstyled Roof from the context menu" but I don't see this in my right click It's also not in the OIP I also can't find it in the workspace editor to add it to my context menu any thoughts? Pat Stanford
I am seeing the same thing in VW2025. The works around appears to be to use a style similar to what you need, set the roof to that and use the right click Locate Roof Style in Resource Manager and duplicate it there. You can then either edit it from the RM, or apply it to the roof and then Edit Style. Not sure how to make a style from an Unstyled roof. 1 Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
It's working for me in VW2024 + VW2025... Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Thanks to @Tom W. I have traced this back to a workspace issue. My Designer workspace in my user folder does not show the Create from Unstyled option, but both the current Architect and Designer workspaces in the Application folder do show it. My workspace was probably from a very early version and this was probably fixed in an Update. I have not figured out how to add it to the Object Context menu, but if you switch to a new stock workspace you should get what you are looking for. 1 Quote Link to comment
E|FA
I always build a new Workspace from scratch with each release. It takes a little time but can save much more in eliminating “glitches”. One bad migration was more than enough for me. 2 Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
I think this is something that changed between VW2025 Release (or maybe an early Beta release) and Update 2. I am relatively certain that I started using the stock VW2025 default workspace rather than upgrading from 2024. Would still be nice to figure out how to add this functionality rather than have to start over again with stock. @Gunther?? Quote Link to comment

Vectorworks, Inc Employee Gunther Posted January 10 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 10 I have confirmed Migrating a stock workspace (in my case Designer/Design Suite) from 2016-2024 into 2025 retains the context menu, "New Roof from Unstyled Roof" command. Best I can tell, the command is not being removed, if it previously existed. Which points to Patrick's comment, the issue may stem from using an earlier workspace where the command did not previously exist. I'm not aware of a way to add these command via the Workspace Editor and let me see what I can find out... Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Gunther Posted January 14 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 14 The command is not in the workspace editor - it is hardcoded and should always be available. The only cases it wouldn't be there are: -The user is not currently using a Design Series license -The object is already styled @Pat Stanford When time permits, would you mind submitting a bug with your Designer workspace that's not displaying the command? Please share any past history with the workspace that you recall and we'll take another look. Thanks!! Quote Link to comment

Pat Stanford
The engineers got back to me on this and it is a workspace issue. If you remove the Object Visibility commands from the workspace, you will get the Create Roof Face Style from Unstyled Roof option. But it appears you can only have Roof Styles or Object Visibility in a workspace currently. They are working on a fix for a future update. 1 Quote Link to comment

Saw a training lab full of brand new PC's used for the first training session installed with the trainers old workspace that had been migrated over many versions act like they were possessed..
