Chair object missing parts in 3D view

Darin K

Question

There is a chair object (Furn Girsberger Conference Chair) that is missing parts (arm rests, legs) when I place it into my workspace.

It looks like this in the Resource Manager:

But like this in my workspace:

I don't see any classes turned off that would cause this problem.

If you edit the chair, you will discover that it was built with those missing elements on an incorrect class.  Changing them to None will fix it.

I selected the chair and changed the Class from "Furniture" to "None" and nothing changed

Are all classes currently visible?  I do believe @Jeff Prince is entirely correct, but the missing pieces won't be selectable until the class is visible.  When in doubt, I usually do the Alt+ click on the Visible column in my Navigation window to turn on all classes, then select the formerly missing components and change them to a more desirable class, then click on the "back arrow" to restore my previous class visibility.

EDIT: Hmm, I located the chair you are using (Furn Girsberger Office Chair Diva, I believe) and imported it.  It looks like the legs are in a nested Group in the symbol in the Dimension class.

Okay, so for some reason that part of the object is in the Dimension class. When I edit the 3D Object, I select all (and can see it) but even though the drop down in the OIP says "None", it's stuck in "Dimension"

EDIT: Guess I fixed it? Not sure how, but it's fixed. Thanks for the help
