BartH
Hi, friends. I can't get VGX files to open with a saved initial view set for "walk through" mode. I've tried : Setting initial perspective view Using a saved perspective view Creating a RW Camera and using the active camera as the current view All lead to a "bird's eye" view of my model. I've tried viewing the model in a browser and in Nomad, no luck. Any tips on setting the initial view in VGX files? Edited December 31, 2024 by BartH typo Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee inikolova Posted January 1 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 1 Hi @BartH, It is not currently possible to configure the initial view of a vgx file, but very soon it will be. We are preparing to release a new version in mid January 2025, where you will be able to save views within the viewer. Best regards, Iskra Nikolova 4 Quote Link to comment

BartH
@inikolova I really appreciate the new saved view features in the VGX viewer. Are there plans to update the Odyssey App too? I'd love to see saved views and some basic lighting too. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee inikolova Posted January 14 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 14 Hi @BartH, Thank you! We are currently working on tethered mode for Vectorworks Odyssey, which would bring light direction control, shadows and ambient occlusion to VR. Adding saved camera positions to Odyssey has also been discussed and it is a possibility for later this year. Let me know if you have any feedback on the hot off the press saved views in the 3D viewer. Quote Link to comment
BartH
Great! So far, saved views work really well. I was expecting the VGX file to open with my saved views from VW but that apparently isn't the case I quickly figured out how to reset the "Home view" and now that is how my file opens. That's a big help! Adding additional views is intuitive, too. So, a nice improvement overall. 1 Quote Link to comment
