Import panoramas to Vectorworks Cloud Presentation

Robert Strauss

Question

From the Cloud Presentation documentation, I gathered that it should be possible to incorporate external .jpg files into Cloud presentations. Does this include the use of externally produced panoramas in Cloud tours? I produced panoramas in Twinmotion and attempted to use them as Slide Resources for a Vectorworks tour. The panoramas behave properly in panorama viewer applications, however when they are uploaded as Slide Resources in Vectorworks Cloud, they save into the "other" category rather than the "tour" category and can't be used for panoramic tours. I had hoped to be able to copy them into the tour editor and then pin them, but this does not appear to be possible. Is this a known limitation or is there a workaround?

@Robert Strauss,

Twinmotion doesn't add the necessary metadata to their panoramas, like Vectorworks does. Their panoramas can be made to work in the Cloud presentations by using this simple free tool: https://exiffixer.com/

The tool adds the metadata needed for the web portal to recognize them as panoramic image rather than a flat image.

Could a command be added to VCS that could add the requisite metadata to 3rd party panoramas?

@Andy Broomell,

Thank you for the suggestion! We may not be able to insert the additional metadata, but we can try "guessing" that an image is panoramic, when it has a certain aspect ratio and use the panorama viewer for those images, even if they don't have the metadata. We are considering this solution at this time.
