tsw
I tried to switch over to the Redshift rendering engine for a recent project that required a lot of soft reflections and glow emitting textures. The quality and speed for the type of images I needed was great, but I ran into a number of issues. I know there are some limitations yet with Redshift (parallax bump maps not being supported for example), but the things I encountered seem more like bugs. I've attached a sample file that demonstrates a few of the problems. I was able to somewhat mitigate them through a special Viewport Style that swaps textures based on classes. It is sort of a workaround, but then you end up maintaining two sets of textures just so—as an example—Shaded viewports display correctly. Has anyone else had these issues? Discovered any good workarounds? I found an earlier thread where the glass refraction issue was discussed, but it doesn't seem to have been addressed (in VW2024 at least). Kevin Allen
Redshift is not yet usable. Shaded doesn't provide an adequate preview. 1 Quote Link to comment
