Just installed the updated plugin BeamViz 7. It does something I've been waiting for…Keep an eye on the cursor frame R. (nope, not the gate rotation)

Wow.

For those of us who need gobos focussed in a variety of edges, building them one by one in PS was so irritating.

For me, hands down, the most mindblowingly great third party plug-in ever!  Problem, it does so many fabulous things you are cheating yourself badly, if you don't set aside time to investigate it seriously.

BeamViz 7 is indeed out. I'm still finishing up on the help and marketing materials, but this version adds a few new rendering tools, including edge control. 

 

Edge applies to gobos, shutters, and iris. Left to "barrel in" and right to "barrel out."

 

The other key new feature is the ability to attach the source point to a Rigging Object. (Completely optional, of course.)
