Problem with viewport "exploding" out of the crop

I usually bring a viewport of the project floor plan into a design layer as a reference to draw lines and design architectural facades and sections. But everytime I'm drawing, the viewport starts to "explode" out of the crop and interferes with the drawing visualization. Is there any way to fix this?

This sounds a bit like something I occasionally encounter but it may be something entirely different.

 

In my case, restarting VW usually stops it from happening.

I always hoped it would work for a 2D Viewport at least.

 

I am just aware that a Viewport's Crop with 3D geometry, like a DLVP from a referenced File, will not work in 3D. Crop is caught in some "Screen Plane" Mode and will depend on your view rotation. So it may display anything else parts than what was inside your desired crop ....

 

But that likely isn't your problem either .....
