How do I butt two walls together without them joining?

How do I get 2 walls to touch each other, yet have end caps for both? In CMU construction, I need for them to touch but not clean - this will be either a control joint or expansion joint. I also have this problem when I have one wall perpendicular to another and want a hard joint at the intersection.

Just enable the relevant Caps for the Walls in the OIP. And/or disable Auto Join Walls (make sure you have it as a Quick Pref). There is also Capped Join Mode for the Wall Join Tool.
