Toby Bale
Hi All Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have a full grid flown from house motors, with a load of sub motors flying sub trusses below it. I had the whole system working lovely in Braceworks with no errors. I have since made a change as the design has been altered, changing just a few truss positions on the grid nothing of much substance. Now I'm chasing my way around the whole grid and subtrusses, getting "static system not support" errors in different locations. When I check the individual parts of my grid, Braceworks says it's all good, but when trying to calculate the grid as a whole to get my total figures for the house points, it comes up with errors. Would someone be able to point me in the right direction to check? I'm unsure of what I'm chasing as it all worked previously and none of the sections I adjust are showing errors only the aspects that haven't been touched. I'd also like to know if anyone knows how to do bridle pickup across a hinged join of a truss I'm using a piece of truss to simulate the trusses being attached but I'm curious if there is a better way to achieve this. Thanks in advance, for any help. Quote Link to comment

Play with these Braceworks preference settings. It might help with finding things that keep getting disconnected. A little nudge here, and little there, and all goes south. Quote Link to comment

Hi Scott This has got me closer and is at least doing the calculation, however I'm now getting a BrxFemHandel not set error when it does the calculation and having never seen this before do you know where to start looking to try and sort this? cheers Toby Quote Link to comment

If you can publicly share a sample file, me or others here can take a look. If you need to share privately, I can look, or have a colleague here take a look as well. You can post files to the forum, or send via direct messages. Quote Link to comment

This looks like a known bug that we are currently testing the fix for, depending on how the testing goes it will likely be in either update 3 or 4. Do you have compensate drops on? If you do try turning it off. Quote Link to comment
Mike Mason
I have trouble with even the most basic of drawings. I have drawn a truss, motors, house points and have verified the motor to truss magnets. Yet it still insists the system is not supported and both motor objects are not connected. I have "played" with the preferences and reset them to no avail. Quote Link to comment

Vectorworks, Inc Employee jcogdell Posted January 21 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 21 Hi @Mike Mason I think I found the problem, your layer options need to be set to show/snap/modify others while drawing the hoists otherwise they will not correctly connect to the trusses for Braceworks calculations. 2 Quote Link to comment
