File location

It would be nice to have an option to set the default document location.

What OS are you running? On a Mac, you can set the default to be either the last folder opened or the application's folder. I'm not sure I can think of an application that lets one set the default from inside the application. (Maybe I just haven't noticed?)

Using WinXP

Microsoft Word, Excel etc have a "default file location" located under the options menu.

This would be a useful little addition to VW.

I have multiple apps (in XP) that let the user define several default directories/folders - data files, templates, resource files (such as symbols), etc. Sure saves a lot of unnecessary navigating...

Are you saying that you have a utility program that lets you assign default directories for VectorWorks? If so, what is it? That would be very useful. VW is really obnoxious about directory choice.

No. VW is not one of the apps that has this feature - and no utility to do so.

I did a little checking. . .and I can do it on the Mac as well. I, obviously, hadn't noticed. I'd been relying on the OS default options.
