Trying to make a rigging object that plugs the hole in the middle of a truss square

Hey Guys

I have a large solid piece of scenery that basically plugs the square in the middle of a truss square... I'm struggling.

What I've tried so far is

1. Making the mesh into a symbol, attaching a rigging object record to the symbol in the resource manager and putting it, physically where I'd like it to go.

2. Clicking every tool that says anything about weight or load and desperately trying to make it do something...

I have the file attached here for clarity.

I think you're trying to distribute the weight of your center object around your truss square. Unfortunately, it's not as simple as that. Fortunately, there is a relatively simple workaround. Add four distributed loads, one to each straight run of your truss square, each distributed load being one quarter° the weight of your center scenic object.

°The catch is, the weight at the center will be greater than the weight at the corners. But it gets you close.

@Scott C. Parker Thanks Scott, that's what I ended up doing before, but depending on the shape of the object, the COG shifts differently. Like: If there's a 10' deep piece of rigid scenery, it'll throw that COG to the high side quicker than if it were a sheet. I got used to doing this in Production Assist before bailing for braceworks and just assumed it was a thing.
