Proper UV Mapping

Can we please get some proper UV mapping, especially for curved surfaces? The current tools work more or less ok for flat things but they complexity fall apart when anything with a curve is in question. I know there are work arounds with using the curved wall tool and then converting, etc. but all of that is very unreliable.

Yes, UV mapping has slightly improved in recent updates, but there is still definite room for improvement on curved objects / meshes (among other things).

I agree. Many other apps do it better.

Asked for many times, don't forget to upvote (^) above. 

I'd love to see options to adjust a texture asymmetrically ( stretch in X but not Y).

It would be great if i didn't have to flip textures Horz or Vert on almost every surface.
