Bruce Kieffer
I made a profile shape that I want to extrude, but I'm not sure the profile is correct, so I made it a symbol thinking I could later come back and modify the symbol's profile shape and then all the extrudes would change. I tried to extrude the symbol, but no luck. Is there a way to do this? Quote Link to comment
EAlexander
Nope. This has been asked for many times over the years. Would be so great. 2 Quote Link to comment

Tom W.
You could make the Extruded object itself a symbol instead + assuming the instances need to be extruded by different amounts achieve that by scaling the symbols asymmetrically rather than by changing the extrusion value. I.e. extrude the symbol geometry by 1" then scale the symbol instances by factors of that. When you edit the extrude profile in the symbol definition all instances will be affected. 4 Quote Link to comment
Popular Post Tobias Kern
Hey. you can use Structural Member Tool and insert the Symbol as profile. Save your Structural Member as Style and you are good to go. Greeting Tobi 5 Quote Link to comment
