Renderworks resulting into totally white viewports

Anttti

Question

I have perspective views on viewports on sheet layers. Rendering in wireframe, shaded, hidden line works just fine, but all modes of Renderworks result in a totally white viewport. The result is the same whether I try to render locally by pushing the ”update” button or in the VW cloud by publishing the sheet as pdf or image. Haven't had a problem like this before!

It is hard to tell what is happening here without a file to look at.

some things to consider:

Is there a light with its brightness so high it is blowing out the scene?

Could you have a clipcube turned on that is outside the viewport bounds?

it looks like you have a pretty good system with a decent graphics card. But, it is possible you are maxing out the memory of your graphics card.

If the size of your textures are too high and there are tons of them and you are rendering to a super high resolution, it could be a problem.

Wat happens when you update the viewport? does it go through the rendering process, how long does it take.

Or, does it just go white right away?

I have duplicated viewports on the side in shaded mode with different ambient lighting for preview purposes and from those I can gather that its not the lighting per se. If the ambient lighting is dropped below 20 the viewport turns totally black, though. I've tried earlierto have some spotlight objects around, then I turned them off, no visible results.

The viewport goes white practically right away. The coffee pot isn't turning, I just end up with a white viewport after a few seconds and nothing else seems to happen. I gather it shouldn't be the graphics card or the performance of my computer in general that causes this, because the same problem occurs if I try to render in VW cloud.

For me this seems to be a bug of some sort, but can't say what is triggering it. An older file with quite a detailed interior did behave normally when I tried to render it in fast Renderworks mode.
