R_Teunissen
Howdy y'all, Working with VWX 2025 update 1 (OSX 14.3) I've set up my available parts for Bridle assembly (Manage Bridle Parts-menu) and here I indicated, that I do not want to use 0,75 ton Shackles. However, if I select any bridles in my design and hit "Assign Parts automatically" in the OIP, they still get the 0,75 ton shackle assigned. In the "Bridle Configuration", I can change swap out the 0,75 t for 3,25 t shackles (the 0,75 is no longer available in the Bridle configuration list, but I would suspect, that the "Assign Parts automatically" function would have this done already. (see screenshot) Another question on the "Manage Bridle Parts" menu: Where are these settings stored? I've indicated which parts I do not want to use, but every time I open the file, all the parts are available again. Thanks in advance for any advice. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee jcogdell Posted November 1 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 1 The bridle parts manager is mainly designed to be used to edit the bridle parts library file, not your active design file. If you want to restrict part availablitiy you need to use the manager on the open library file, save the changes and then in a new file reopen the parts manager and hit the update button to tell Vectorworks that the default library has been editied. R_Teunissen
Hi Jesse, thanks for pointing me in the right direction, however.... I've opened the "Stock Bridle.vwx" file. Here I used the "Manage Bridle Parts" menu and made sure all the parts that I do not want to use had their checkmark in the column "Use" off. Saved and closed file "Stock Bridle.vwx" Went back to my file which has the drawn bridles in it. Here went to the "Manage Bridle Parts" menu and hit "Update". > Nothing happens. As an experiment, opened the Resource Manager and did a "refresh libraries" After that, went to the "Manage Bridle Parts" menu and hit the update button. > Now, I do see the changes appear in the list. Selected a bridle in my design and in the OIP, hit the "Assign Parts automatically" button. Then, clicked on "Bridle Configuration" (in OIP) The bridle STILL has 0,75 ton shackles assigned to it, even now that they should not be available. As an experiment, opened a new and empty file. NOTE: in the newly opened file, I looked at the "Manage Bridle Parts" menu. Here all the items are set to available (even the 0,75 t shackle) until I hit the update button. In the new file, re-modelled the trusses, house points etc and placed new bridles with hoists. Selected one of the bridles. Hit the "Bridle Configuration" (in OIP) and the bridles STILL has 0,75 t shackles in it. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong? Quote Link to comment

This is likely because the excluded bridle parts are already in the active file resources, which will overide the bridle library preferences. As far as I know this will override he do not use option in the library. On 11/1/2024 at 5:17 PM, R_Teunissen said: As an experiment, opened a new and empty file.
