PeanutRigs
Hello Everyone, I've got some truss that is from an ACAD drawing that happens to be in 3D. When I import this to VWX, the vast majority of the trusses come in and render just fine. However I have a couple of trusses that seem to be playing peek-a-boo with their main chords. In top/plan view, everything looks pretty normal. I can see all my chords and such. But when I go into Orbit, some of the trusses decide to hide their main chords. But the chords are definitely there. I've gone into the component and had a look around, but I'm not seeing anything that would explain why some of the chords don't want to render in VWX, even though there's about 60 other pieces (different lengths than these,) that all render just fine. Anyone got an ideas on this? I'm attaching the file for anyone that wants to root around in there and try to help me out. Preciate y'all! Truss Weirdness.vwx Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Visibility issues are normally related to class visibilities. Are the main chords in a different class that is set to invisible? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee TomWhiteLight Posted November 4 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 4 Could also be the geometry type and fill/none (wipeout?!), Or VGM related, I think Pats right to check classes first, If not edit the symbol and see if you can convert the geometry to generic solids, Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee JustinVH Posted November 4 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 4 It is most likely a hollow tube and that kind of geometry can become invisible depending on the visibility of the walls or even if they are made of NURBS surfaces like a lot of truss tends to import as. You may have to redraw the truss using native Vectorworks extruded solids. Often, the only way to fix the issue I have discovered is to redraw or replace the geometry that is acting strange.
