gfyfe
This feels like it should be very self explanatory....however! I am having difficulty figuring out how to place myself in the interior of a residential home I have modelled in order to edit certain elements of the interiors (adding door / window casing etc.) Doing baseboard / crown moulding EAP in Top/Plan view is simple enough, however when I try to select a front / left / right view in order to draw a vertical path for my EAP, it boots me outside of the model and can only see exterior walls, can't seem to get back inside the model through the walls. Have tried editing the elevation in place via the interior elevation viewport but that does not allow me to draw those types of elements. Simply, how do I place myself within the model room by room to view front / back / left / right views in order to add architectural elements? Have spent all day googling / searching the forums etc. and can't seem to come up with the correct search wording to yield any helpful results. Have tried to play around with the different flyover tool modes, none of which seem to give me the result I'm looking for. Feels like I am missing something very simple.... Thank you in advance!! Pat Stanford
If you are on VW2022 as your signature says, you will want to use the clip cube to limit the portion of the model you can see so the exterior walls don't hide things from you. In VW2025 you can still use the Clip Cube, but Object Visibility options have been added so you can make certain objects ghosted or invisible to be able to see the objects you need. 1 Quote Link to comment
E|FA
In addition to @Pat Stanford's advice, and depending on how you organized your model using Design Layers and Classes, you can hide Layers and/or Classes to get to the view you want. Regardless of the method(s) you choose, Saved Views can be a real time-saver switching back and forth between the full model and the limited view. Quote Link to comment
