cberg
Easy question. Is there a trick to using the Push-Pull tool with a working plane? I would like to extend the face (in the screenshot below) perpendicular to the working plane instead of normal to the ground (x-y) axis. The object is rotated in 3D. Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
If I understand you correctly using the second mode of the tool rather than the first mode should get you what you want…? 1 Quote Link to comment
cberg
I never fully understood the difference between the first and second modes. Now I do. Thank you! Quote Link to comment
markdd
Yes, but only if the original object is aligned to the Working Plane as well. I suspect that that is not the answer you are looking for......! 1 Quote Link to comment
cberg
I now understand how the mode work, and the limitations you mention. You can't push pull something along a specified working plane without the object face matching that plane. Edited October 29, 2024 by cberg Quote Link to comment
markdd
Yes, that is correct. However, a combination of the Taper Face Tool and then the Push/Pull Tool will probably get you to where you need to be. Quote Link to comment
