Hidden Line Geometry showing

John B

Question

Hi,

Can someone have a look at this and explain what I have done wrong. The shelves on the left don't show the geometry behind the render but the ones on the right do and I cant work out why. View port settings are Final quality render/Hidden line.

Thanks

Well, something strange is going on there!

Hidden line is not rendering those objects properly. It's as if they are inside out somehow. Is it something to do with "face normals" (if so, I don't know if anything can be done)?

I wondered if it was to do with those solids being made from an enormous number of additions/subtractions. Sometimes converting to a generic solid sorts this out, but it doesn't seem to work in your case.

If it were me I'd just rebuilt them. I don't think it's anything obvious that you are doing wrong.

Yes same thing, even the design layer is wrong with hidden line.

I have converted to generic solids and no difference ! I would like to know what the problem is so that if its something I am doing I can avoid it in the future. Even stranger is that I think I mirrored from the set on the left which have rendered correctly.

I'm not sure how it can be anything you're doing wrong when it all looks fine at my end. Design Layer:

Have you tried running the Repair function from the Install Manager + seeing if that changes anything?

No, I will give that a try, at the moment I am simply redrawing the components that are incorrect !! Not exactly a productive way to work but quicker than endless guessing my end, I am self taught so always assume its my lack of official training thats the problem, thanks for help with this 🙏

I can duplicate this in VW2025 Update 0, but not Update 1. There was a fix for a bug that looks to be the same issue as this.
