windows w/ offset casement sash

Brian R

Question

Is there a method to draw casement windows in plan as they occur in actual construction, with the movable sash either flush with outer face of wall for outswing, or flush with inner face of wall for inswing? This matters when you want to illustrate a deep window sill or a heavy shadow line, and when inswing windows may entail a clearance issue.

Yes. With the WINDOW selected, go to the Object Info Palette (OIP) and click on the "Jamb & Trim Settings". In there is an item called "offset in wall". You can input positive or negative numbers, which will move the window accordingly. Hope that helps.

Added minutes later: Sorry, I just went and tried it and it does not solve the problem. So I guess the answer is no. Oops, my mistake. :-(
