Currently if I want to grab a symbol or style from an existing file, I have to open that file in order to see it in the "open files" section of the symbol menu.
For example, here is the gate tool - I can get a new gate form the Vectorworks Libraries or from my user library and favorites.
But if I haven't saved the needed gate in my user library yet, then I have to actually open that file before I can access the needed symbol...
Gate menu:
But when importing classes or Layers you don't have to open the file - you have the option to "import classes" and choose a file to import classes from.
"Import classes/choose..."
Sure would be nice to be able to import symbols and styles with out having to open the files containing them.
...and yes I know I should be saving everything to my user library.
