Dick Jenkins
I just installed VW2025 and I cannot perform operations such as "Add Surface" or "Clip Surface" by using the commands that pop up when I right click on my mouse. Did something change or is this a bug? 1 Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
There was another report about this recently that MIGHT have traced it to another utility called Keyboard Maestro. Are you using any other helper apps to enhance your keyboard? Keyboard Maestro? TextExpander? TypeItForMe? ??? Quote Link to comment
Dick Jenkins
I'm not using anything like that. I've been trying to keep my computer and accessories very simple. 1 Quote Link to comment
HHFurr
I am having the same problem. I right click on an object and the options show up but none of them will work. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
I have not seen any solutions here that appear reliable. If a restart of the computer does not solve the problem, I recommend that you contact Tech Support directly and see if they can help you figure out the problem. And if they do, please report back here on what worked. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Rob Nykolaishen Posted October 3, 2024 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 3, 2024 Are you right clicking to bring up the contextual menu then using right click again to try and select the menu item? Left click should still work. There is a bug on right clicking on menu items is not currently working. 4 Quote Link to comment
Christopher Rowe
Many years of using Vectorworks have trained my hand to right-click, move the cursor to the contextual menu item, and release the cursor to execute. This has always worked for me until I started using 2025 and I experienced this issue. Vectorworks Support advised me to click again on the contextual menu (with a LEFT click as Rob notes!) to execute the command - this solved the issue. I thought this changed behaviour was an undocumented new 'feature' but Rob's answer above seems to confirm it is a bug. 2 Quote Link to comment
HHFurr
Rob, Thank for confirming the bug and the work around. I assume there is an update coming soon to fix this and the read only file preview bug. These are serious basic VW functionality Quality Control issues and should be address quickly. Thank you again for letting us know the work around. Quote Link to comment
Peter Vandewalle
I am using Keyboard Maestro all the time and my right-click just works perfectly in 2025, Mac OS 15.1. The difference I read is: I richt-click to open the contextual menu, then left-click on the needed action. When doing a right-click-drag over the appearing contextual menu and release over the needed action, it doesn't work in 2025. In 2024 it did. I never used the right-click-drag before so I didn't notice this flaw. Quote Link to comment
