Data Tags / Worksheet Function

Recommended Posts

I wonder if it is possible to create a Data Tag with the new Worksheet Style functions that shows for example the total area of all Space Objects with a specific style on a certain layer. Or a label that counts all the symbols with a certain name.

That means i do not want to associate the data tag with an object but just place it on the design (or sheet) layer.

Short answer is No.

Data Tags are exclusive to the one object they are associated with. There is no way to associate a single Data Tag to multiple objects to pull data from them.

Longer answer: Maybe depending on how much work you want to do.

You could probably write a script to be run via a Worksheet RunScript function in a Data Tag that would collect the information you want and display it.  But I would think that a single cell worksheet would probably be a better way to accomplish the same thing and would make it easier to edit the criteria if you need to change it.
