Josh B Rawls
I have a VW model with just 2 fixture types. The High End Solapix 19 and High End Hyperstar. Only the Solaris are showing up in Vision. They are mission from the patch and also from the Vision model. Everything else seems to come in fine. What could be causing this? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted September 25 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted September 25 Did you set the fixture mode or the GDTF mode for the High End Hyperstar? If there is no mode assigned the fixture will be seen by Vision as just geometry. Quote Link to comment
Josh B Rawls
There are no GDTF modes available in VW for those fixtures. They don't even show up as geometry in Vision. It appears they don't exist in the Vision fixture library. I have sent in a request via the website. Request CD-5149. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted September 26 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted September 26 Vectorworks only includes a few basic GDTF files bu default. There is are several versions of the Hyperstar available on the GDTF Share. https://gdtf-share.com/share.php?page=home&manu=High End Systems&fix=Hyperstar Standard&rev=47902 Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee JustinVH Posted September 26 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted September 26 @Josh B RawlsIf you are using VW2025 there is a new feature where you can import and link GDTF modes to Lighting Device symbols by a simple command. As long as the Lighting Device in Vectorworks has the GDTF ID and GDTF Name populated this feature will work and the Hyperstar is one of those symbols what is setup to utilize this new feature. Josh B Rawls
I found the official GDTF file, imported it in VW and chose it when replacing the fixture. I've attached a screenshot of the fixture object info. When I send to Vision the fixture shows up in the Scene Graph but doesn't show in the visualization itself. When I click on it in the Scene Graph it does not output any light like the other fixtures do who show up in the visualization. If I try to replace the fixture in Vision the Hyperstar is not shown in available fixtures. If I replace it with a fixture that is in the list it appears to work. Another oddity, is that I cannot change the Z height of the fixture once I replace it with the GDTF object. It is forced at 0". I've also inserted a new fixture with the same exact results.
