KenD
VW2025 I dont see sheet metal and wood screws in the tools. I have looked around, looked though the legacy tools and not seeing them. Am I missing something or are they gone? Thanks Quote Link to comment
E|FA
I have Sheet Metal Screws & Wood Screws showing in the 2025 Architect-BIM workspace. They're in the Detailing and All Tools folders of the Workspace Editor. There's a search option now to help you find things. 2 Quote Link to comment
KenD
Thank you! Duh! I'm so thick I didn't even pay attention to the search feature! Why screws wouldn't be in "fasteners" as they are "fasteners", is beyond me, but I'm thankful they are still there. I dont spend much time in the bowels of VW, I dont usually have the time. I need to get the workspace set up and draw. It would be nice to be able to transfer a workspace from one version to another but I suppose that's not possible? I appreciate the community's help very much. Sometimes I (and I'm probably not alone) cant see the obvious. 1 Quote Link to comment

Yes, this has been possible for quite some time. The Migration Manager always runs the first time Vw launches after a new installation, but you can also invoke the command later at any time. KenD
Thanks Tom and rDesign, I thought I had done this when I installed this version but didn't see the results. When I just went to do this, the tool sets were not checked to migrate. I checked that and it appears to have very closely matched where my 2021 version is with a few tweaks still needed. I had to realize that I needed to select the migrated workspace too. This will save me some organization time. This also imported my smaller attributes palette. The default one, I could not resize as small for some reason. The minimum resize I could do was about twice what just migrated. Edit: Spoke too soon! Made the mistake of playing with it and now stuck with the larger palette! I haven't dealt with this since last installing 2021, so I'm not regularly tuned in to the deeper setup stuff. It's a bit overwhelming for someone that rarely tinkers with this stuff. Like I said, I usually just need to be drawing. It's one of the reasons I haven't upgraded as time goes on. Kinda like getting the new Windows, people like me are reticent, we just want what we had to work! I'm a bit of a Luddite I suppose. I appreciate you all! Pat Stanford
Be careful with transitioned workspaces. Especially over multiple version you can end up with a workspace that does not have a lot of the newer tools/commands. 1 Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
Yes make sure you check out the 'Recent Changes' sections of the Workspace Editor where new + removed tools + menu items for each version are listed. 3 Quote Link to comment

I also notice there are tools in the palettes I migrated that were not in the previous version. I am going through each palette and tool set to include/exclude. Quote Link to comment
