every now and then the tools are getting locked in my current workspace. 

does anyone has a solution to this problem? 

when I moved to the original spotlight workspace it releases it temporarily but it comes back and get locked again.

when I say locked, I mean grayed out.

@ofiro Can you confirm which version of Vectorworks you're running?

What are the steps you're performing before the tools get grayed out? Do you have multiple monitors?

This may not be the case, but we have had occasional issues similar to that if we open multiple versions of Vectorworks, i.e. 2019, 2022, 2023 at the same time.  Closing down and opening only one version resolved our issues.

the whole phenomenon started when I started to use the "Create Floating View Pane" in an  external view monitor in one of the times that I was using Vectorworks but now it's happening in every file even if I don't use an external view window. I do have two monitors working all the time but I'm only using one of them for Vectorworks. now in every plan every time I refresh the worksheets it happens. the toolbars are getting grayed out. if I'm going to the original spotlight worksheet it releases the menu from being greyed out but I have changed few things in the worksheet to improve my workflow so some of the things will be missed if I working with the original spotlight worksheet.

Could you take a screen recording and either attach it here or send it to me in a message? I haven't encountered this, but maybe watching what you're doing will give me some hints on how to reproduce. 

 

You're working with a laptop? Are you using a custom workspace?
