RICARDO OLVERA ARELLANO
I want to ask your advice about choosing Windows computer workstation over waiting for Mac at this moment. I have three big jobs that require me to upscale my system, which is a Mac (M1 16 gbs and the latest intel IMac) If I pick this Windows thinkpad with videographics card for workstation will it be OK or should I wait for the upcoming MacBook Pros with M4 pro or Max. The window system is top of the line with 16Gb A5000 NVIDIA graphics with 128 GB ram. Thank you! I remember you having a really well equipped iMac. Why does the job require something new? I’m still using my IMac and it is even able to render files that are crashing the latest M series computers. RICARDO OLVERA ARELLANO
Well; I don’t know what happens with the processor it does not jump in performance. It stays between 5 to 10% of power usage. I have the core i7. 128 ram; and 5700xt 16 GB. And no more Apple care. What OS are you working with? Quote Link to comment

I don’t think you would see an impressive increase in performance if you got the latest Studio or MBP compared to what you are using now. I certainly didn’t when I trialed a fully loaded Studio. RICARDO OLVERA ARELLANO
Thank you Jeff, I will clean the system completely. Hoping that it would make a difference, because I do like my system, just want to make more from it. Your advice is very important for me and the community! Thank you! 1 Quote Link to comment
rDesign
Even though the Vw2025 system requirements say that macOS 13 Ventura is the minimum macOS, I have installed Vw2025 on my 2016 core i7 MacBook Pro (which cannot install macOS 13) — and granted I have not used it much (less than 1 hour this week since release), but I haven’t had any issues with Vw2025 on macOS 12.7.6 so far. In case that was one of the factors in your need for a new computer. Edited September 15 by rDesign Quote Link to comment

RICARDO OLVERA ARELLANO
Update: I updated my SO to SONOMA 14.6.1 and downloaded VW2025 Design suite, it is like another machine, the performance is much fluid and the renderings are faster. Thank you guys for your support! Best Ricardo 4 Quote Link to comment

I am on Sequoia Public Bate nearly since day one. And beside that I do not notice any problems with 3D/CAD Apps, common things like hovering a word and right clicking in Safari or Mail to open the Dictionary - feels like taking 3-5 seconds .... And WTH, while writing this and RMB "nachschlagen" what "Lexikon" may be spelled in english (Dictionary), it worked in real time - for a moment - but only now and then .... and is lagging again ....
