VW2025 Error dialog when making View Ports

Each time I make a rectangle over a Design Layer drawing to make a Viewport on a Sheet Layer I'm getting "Error preparing the Vectorworks Vision Plugin" I'm not using any Vision Plugin only a Viewport. After clicking on the OK button the Error Dialog box disappears & the Create Viewport box opens. Not sure the Vision Plugin is or why it is now tied to the Create Viewport command.

I remembered that I had a similar error with Vw2023 (on launch, not creating a VP). It was an error about loading the Vision Library so perhaps the fix for it (in the link below) might also work on the error you saw.

I was just going to post that there was an error message when making Viewports. See attached screenshot. I am using VW Architect. 

 

I also experienced four hard crashes (as in VW completely closed and the model did not save) in the first fifteen minutes of playing around with VW2025, just playing around with the 2 point perspective and new navigation widget.  I selected a fairly easy model, with not much in the way of viewports or annotations.   Not atypical for a SP-0 release. 

 

That said, the floor reshape bug that plagued VW 2024 appears to have been fixed in VW 2025.

Are you using a keyboard shortcut to create the Viewport?

No.  I go to the "View" pull down menu bar and selected "Create Viewport".  I did not migrate any Plugins, Workspaces or Customized settings.  So VW2025 should be working "out of the box".  I may not have updated my signature but I am running OSX 13.6.7.

I did migrate everything from VW2024 even though I've never added or used Plug-Ins not knowing if that what is causing this. Never seen it before in previous version. One thing I'm really liking VW2025 for is my Smart Curser Cues are staying on.

I did what the link rDesign mentioned I after rebooting my computer VW2025 is still giving me the error dialog. I might trying to reinstall VW2025 & not migrate any setting from VW2024 & see what happens.

Thank you all for the additional info. I am able to replicate this with certain products. I will send this over to our development so they can work on a fix.

Same here - I am also on Architect and I get the same Spotlight & Vison errors as noted above. Hopefully the fix can be pushed out immediately. 

 

Not great for QA / QC.

Hmmh,

I could have lived with VW 2025 SP0 crashing when trying to create a VP from a Rectangle.

I am aware that Software is complex and thing may get wrong.

Sorry but this sounds like a really embarrassing and useless bug.

Hello All:

This bug slipped out and will be fixed in Update 1.  Huge apologies for the disruption to your workflow.  I had tested with Spotlight and with Design Series license but not with Architect-only serial number. 

 

Please click through both of these alerts until a fix is put out for this problem.

I'm also getting it with the Detail Callout tool created viewports.

I can confirm the same problem with VW Architect clean install (no migration from 2024) and Mac restart.  In case it helps troubleshooting, I also had Vision warnings pop up when I installed VW 2025 (submitted report to tech support via web form).  I deleted 2025 and reinstalled after the Installer app was updated (other thread on Forum).

I am having similar problem with crashes or spinning wheel of death when I try to create a viewport from a rectangle. I'm not getting those plugin messages. I'm using spotlight.

I tried a restart and a reinstall. Neither fixed it.

I really hope this update comes soon and fixes the issue. I have a lot of drawings that I really need to send!

Hello @Lumiere if you create a viewport from a single rectangle you should see an alert asking if you want to use it for the crop, do you get that alert?
Also can you create a saved view when showcase is started, creating saved views in showcase does similar things as creating a viewport in showcase.
