User origin moving on it's own (again)

In the latest couple of versions of VW (2021-2024, maybe earlier) I have noticed the user origin sometimes will move one it's own. This used to be a problem back in the MiniCad days but was fixed for a long time, unfortunately the problem now seems to be back.

 

I haven't been able to find exactly when this happens, but it seems to be related to working in 3D views, and sometimes with reference files. The last time this happened both the model and the user origin was placed close to the internal origin and the file was not georeferenced, I did however import a reference file at som point in the last couple of days and was copying between files in a 3D view when I noticed. The move can be anything from a couple of meters to hundreds of kilometers.

 

As every kind of file exchange depends on using the same origin, I can't stress enough how important it is to keep the origin locked for anything else than conscious user decisions.
