Create Devices from Worksheet

I tried searching the forum but it gives me a 403 denied error.

 

If i open my bosses template to create a new file, and i then "create devices from worksheet", it bring in all of his custom devices with logos etc that are resources in the file. (NOTE he did not add his devices to the user connectcad database).

 

For me however... i started by creating an entry for each piece of gear in the user device database, so i can open device builder and add my custom thing.  Then I edited a few devices with logos and made the boxes bigger, save as symbol, and i see it in the resource manager.  THE PROBLEM IS, it seems that while I can see the device in the resource manager for the file I'm working on, when i "add device from worksheet" it seems to be building the device from  the database and not importing the one from the file resources with the custom background and logo.

 

Is there a setting I'm missing (I'm new to connectcad and vectorworks in general) that i can tell vectorworks to pull the device from the resources first, before building it from the user database?

If you like, PM me the file you are working on so I can see what's going on. There isn't any setting involved as far as I remember.

 

Not sure about the 403 response but that isn't a ConnectCAD issue.
