Marcus bLD
Hi Team, Using latest version of VW Landmark and looking at options to show climbing plants on a wall/screen, or green wall in 3D. The options I can see: - The plug in Greenscreens of varying sizes which are quite artificial looking - Use one of the 3 or 4 climber options in the Resource Manager - Use the vertical wall prop symbol What are the next steps? Would I need to import my own image and turn it into an image/texture? Thanks Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
There's also the Foliage Tool. See: Quote Link to comment
Marcus bLD
That looks pretty useful. Where do I find the foliage tool? Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
Not sure where it would be in your workspace. Might be somewhere funny like Visualisation. Hit F + do a search. Quote Link to comment
Marcus bLD
Thanks, yeah it looks like there's about 10 or so leaves and flowers if I search Foliage, but nothing like what appeared in that previous forum post you shared. Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
You can create your own leaf + flower symbols. The wisteria leaf + flower symbols I was using in that post came from a @Tony Kostreski file that's floating about somewhere... Quote Link to comment

Actually rereading your post did you actually find the Foliage Tool? I meant search Vectorworks not search the Resource Manager. https://app-help.vectorworks.net/2024/eng/VW2024_Guide/Plants2/Adding_foliage.htm?rhsearch=foliage tool&rhhlterm=foliage tool tools 1 Quote Link to comment

I searched Vectorworks. In the RM it also lists the same items as in the Visualization tool. Quote Link to comment

That Toolset you posted was of the Site Planning toolset - I don't have Landmark or Designer, but according to the help file page that TomW posted, you need to look in the Visualization toolset for the Foliage tool. Yes correct, the Visualization Tool. The same leaves and flowers I can select in there are also in the RM - it's the same database. Question: do you have more than say 10 leaves and 10 flowers in yours? Maybe I am missing something? Cheers Quote Link to comment

Cheers Does the Foliage tool not work for you, or are you just wanting / needing more leaves and flowers than what you are seeing? Beyond that - someone else with Landmark (or Design Series) will have to help further -- as I only have Architect and don't have access to the Foliage tool at all. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
I am also only seeing the 10 or 12 flowers and leaves in VW2024. Those are in the Vectorworks libraries. There do not appear to be any additional ones in the Premium libraries. 1 Quote Link to comment

Cheers Have you actually created a Foliage object yet? How do you know that the available choice of symbols is inadequate until you have played around with the tool? Quote Link to comment
Marcus bLD
Thanks everyone, it sounds like I need to play around with this foliage tool more. I was basing it off the link at the start of this thread which showed a great wall climber, however it appears this may have been a custom creation using the foliage tool.. whereas i had assume it was like a plug in type object. Objects created with the Foliage Tool are Plug-in Objects. But I think you mean you're looking for a readymade symbol. To do this you need to create a Foliage object first then save it as a symbol + check the 'Convert to plug-in object' option. The configuration you want for a wall climber is 'Linear'.
