hollister design Studio
When I open my resource manager and look into my library of textures and into my "SIMPLE" textures folder - I have 15 textures. When I'm looking into the same folder from the wall component settings menu and trying to connect a texture to a component, that same folder only has 6 textures... What's going on here? The same thing is happened when I was looking for fence styles - they are there in the resource manager, but not all of them show in the fence tool window. Maddening! Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
It is because those resources are already in the active file. When you are in the resource selector you need to look at the active file in the 'Open Files' section to see them rather than in the RM. It's not like this in every instance you use the Resource Selector however + I don't understand why that is but someone else might. For example if you're using the Symbol Insertion Tool it will see all the symbols in the RM regardless of whether any of them are also in the current file or not. Perhaps it's only when using Walls + PIOs...? 2 Quote Link to comment
hollister design Studio
@Tom W. That's... frustrating. I get it when doing something like "replacing" a symbol, but it seems like general resources should be visible. What if I had altered the resource in the active file and wanted to reimport the original version? I like that the menu comes up asking if I want to overwrite, rename or use existing... Anyway, thanks for the information! 1 Quote Link to comment
