Worksheets inside symbols

TheCanadian1970

Question

I've placed a worksheet inside of a symbol which is on a design layer. I then viewport the symbol to a sheet layer, but this affects the worksheets scale which reduces it to a size 10x smaller. I can scale up the worksheet which allows me to see it through the viewport, but now the design layer is 10x larger, making it unusable. Also, when I enter the symbol, I can't see my worksheets. I can hover over where it is and it'll show me the outline and I can also enter it, but it's invisible (Or, it's scaled down dramatically)

If I take the worksheet out of the symbol, it comes through the viewport fine. Placing it in a symbol seems to be the problem.

I need the symbol as its displays information across many sheets and the worksheet is there so I can pull out information for other sheets.

Can you have worksheets inside of symbols?

Appreciate any help

Worksheet Images inside of Symbol does not seem to work. I am not surprised as you can only have one instance of a worksheet image in a a file.

How complicated are your worksheets?  If they are relatively simple, you can probably use Data Tag (either raw data tag functionality or Worksheet functionality) Dynamic Text to get a version that is more likely to be useable in a symbol.  Or you might not even need the symbol depending on how you get the data in to the Data Tag.

Post a sample of what you are trying to do and someone should help.

Thanks for the quick reply Pat.

The worksheets are super simple, but are spread across many sheets as are the symbols.

We originally just had text inside the symbol stating the floor elevations... which is fine, but being able to put in a worksheet allows us not to have to cross check all the other pages that are pulling the specific info... which is mainly the floor name and it's elevation.

I've attached some screen shots
