garrettohler Posted August 9 Share Posted August 9 Something that I've noticed that seems to be a common theme is that VectorWorks plug in objects will remove records from objects once they are inserted. As an example, I've created a number of custom 'Television' items and attached my own records for additional information that our drawings require. If I use the 'Television' tool to insert the object, the extra records are removed. If I insert it just as a symbol, the records stay, but you lose the 'Television' symbol functionality. Another object I just tried this with was the 'drop point' tool, and the behavior was the same. Why does this happen? Can this not be the standard or can there be some kind of option to keep the records attached? The only way that I know around this is to create your 'hybrid' object that is the correct plug in object type with the correct records and info attached, and to copy/paste them from some kind of library file. It's incredibly clunky to work that way and I'd greatly appreciate records being able to stay attached to these objects! Quote Link to comment
