Vectorworks, Inc. Increases Investment in Entertainment Product Offerings

Columbia, MD (July 30, 2024) — Vectorworks has been dedicated to serving customers in the live events industry for over 30 years and is committed to improving the functionality and quality of its products. This includes Vectorworks Spotlight and the entertainment rigging analysis module Braceworks.

 

Vectorworks is refocusing its efforts to speed up workflows without compromising on product and feature quality, ensuring that future updates and versions of Spotlight, Braceworks, and ConnectCAD best serve the unique requirements of entertainment industry professionals. These changes will be evident in the upcoming release of Vectorworks 2025 this fall, which will address several existing functionality areas of Spotlight and Braceworks. Users can expect enhancements to bridles, truss, and light placement, improved schematic views, automated GDTF file handling, cable and equipment labeling, power schematics, and many more updates to audio, video, and staging tools.

 

To improve and deliver even higher quality future developments, Vectorworks has increased its investment in Spotlight and Braceworks. Among other things, the development of Braceworks has been brought in-house, and engineering experts have been added to the team. In this context, we want to share that Vectorworks has ended its development relationship and all affiliation with its former outsourcing partner, DeerSoft GmbH. Both companies are going their separate ways now. Please be informed that no compatibility or connectivity of the companies’ respective products and services is guaranteed. Hence, we cannot recommend using DeerSoft’s product, Production Assist, in conjunction with Vectorworks Spotlight.
