Charlot
Hello dear VectorWorks Users, Hope you're fine! I am not very familiar with the 3D tools, and when it is more complex than an extrude, I am completely loose. I have to draw a special curtain like this exemple: https://wahlberg.dk/cases/earth-i-immersive-floating-mountains The goal is to know the total area to build it. If someone have the good approach to manage it, and can make a small video tuto to explain it, It will help me a lot! Thanks for you're time, Have a good day! Cheers, Charlot Quote Link to comment
VIRTUALENVIRONS
There are some ways to do this. The first approach would be "Drape Surface". Look into that first, find videos online. It will give you a simplified version of what you are looking for. That may be enough. To create the visuals shown in the URL link is a much harder project. Doable in VW's, but much harder. VIRTUALENVIRONS
@Charlot To give you an idea and this was fairly quickly. I don't know how detailed you need this, so this is coarse in sample Edited July 31, 2024 by VIRTUALENVIRONS Quote Link to comment
Charlot
Thank you so much @VIRTUALENVIRONS The Drape Surface is enough to my work, and with the "Propriété Volumique" (in french) on the Modele menu, I can know the area and speak with the drape maker... Thank's a lot, Have a good day! Charlot Edited August 1, 2024 by Charlot 1 Quote Link to comment
VIRTUALENVIRONS
@Charlot. I found this interesting. It seems artists working in theatre have some of the most complex requirements. Anyway, I made some tests and came up with this. You can have the file if you want it. Or the geometry that created the drape surface. Quote Link to comment
Charlot
Thanks for the interest and the proposal of the file. But I have to draw it with the right dimensions of the room and the good place and number of winchs. So I'll directly do it on my file! Cheers, Charlot. Quote Link to comment
