Iainy1961
Hi all, would someone be able to tell me why my 2D fills go away when I update a view port? It is very frustrating trying to do a quick render to show a client and having these little bugs happen all the time. Thank you Quote Link to comment
bcd
Is this button checked? Also you might want to uncheck the Display out-of-date border to hide the red & white barber pole Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
In the image of the OIP, it appears that you have both the foreground and background render set to Hidden Line. That would certainly ensure you don't have any fills. Quote Link to comment

That part of the OIP is missing from your screenshot. Quote Link to comment
EAlexander
My go to for things like this is Background set to with Final quality renderworks or Shaded (but with edges turned off) and then Hidden line for the Foreground render. Gives the best of both worlds. 1 Quote Link to comment
Iainy1961
@EAlexander @Tom W. @bcd Hidden line foreground unchecked, no change. Planar objects is se;cted and has been on every attempt. VGM cache and viewport cache checked. No change. Shaded and hidden line is not the view I need. Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
What happens if you change from Perspective projection to Orthogonal...? Quote Link to comment
Iainy1961
@Tom W. For some reason that takes me outside the building regardless of what view I started with. When I am in a drawing window and change to hidden line, all the bits I want to see are visible for about 10 seconds then they dissapear. When I create the viewport they are visible until I update the port. So I am not going to update the viewport. Thank you everyone for your suggestions and help Quote Link to comment
Iainy1961
I managed to do it by not updating the viewport, then turning off all the update buttons in the PDF export screen. I am sure, though somethings are nessecerally convoluted in VW, that there has to be an easier way than what I had to do. One hours work turned into four. Quote Link to comment

Thank you everyone for your suggestions and help In my tests 2D fills showed when the projection was orthogonal but not when it was perspective. Not sure why this would be. I have never needed to show 2D fills before. Quote Link to comment
Iainy1961
@Tom W. It was the only way I could show the video wall panels.Unless, of course, there is a sub sub menu that would do that for me. Quote Link to comment
