Unable to connect nodes

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have inserted Marionette nodes into an existing Vectorworks document but for some reason they cannot be connected to each other. When I click the connection circle on a node, the connection line appears from the opposite side of the node and doesn't stick to any other nodes. This happens regardless of the node type. However, the problem does not occur on a blank document so there must be something different in my existing document that is causing this? Any idea what might be causing this?

I have Vectorworks 2023 SP8 on Mac.

Thanks!

Copy and Past the entire network into a different file and work on it there. Delete the one in the file with the problem (make a backup first). Copy/paste it back in and see if it helps.

Or contact Technical Support directly. They are likely to have a way to help you with and NDA type support so you can let them see the file.

If the NDA is truly that strict and it works in a different file, you may need to do a layer by layer copy to a new file.

Hi @Juha Tuomimaki,

Welcome to the Vectorworks forum and Marionette in particular.

The behaviour of nodes and their connections you show and describe is definitely not normal or usual. In fact, I cannot remember ever having seen this with Marionette. And a quick search in the bug report system, reveals that this hasn't been reported either.

Here's an image of what your situation should look like approximately:

0) Are you trying this in Top/Plan or a different view?

1) Does this happen in a new empty file as well?

2) Have you tried resetting your user folder?

3) Have you tried running the installation repair?

Best regards,

Antonio
