Yes indeed I was hoping the so-called “materials” were going to ease this by coding in a lot more information about the items that create wall and slab build ups. Then avoiding the need to set 3 or 4 items per layer and allowing greater reused.

to me it’s not so much the number of clicks but how little “smarts” come from all that time.

I agree that the Component workflow should be made easier. My thought (some time ago now) was that we should be able to easily transfer them between styles rather than  recreate them from scratch each time:

I think that Materials have improved things a lot when it comes to Walls/Slabs/Roofs/Hardscapes, however I would still like to be able to reuse Components beyond simply duplicating an existing resource.

I read a suggestion on here once that Vectorworks should employ a "click reducer" who's sole task was to reduce the amount of clicks required to use the software. I think it's a good idea!

Also love the idea of a wall/slab/roof component palette as you suggest - that would be really great.

Part of that job would be to put out workflow videos to show some of the handy hints that often get lost in all the noise of larger updates. As well as admonishing devs who are driving up the click count.
